Balcones District Park
A beautiful little park located in a community-driven neighborhood in North Austin. The family-friendly park has a popular basketball court, volleyball court, Balcones pool, and a kids’ play area. You get more access to hiking trails when you go down the trail behind the pool where you can witness the natural waterfall flowing down the creek.
The Balcones Park is also the western terminus of the 10-foot Northern Walnut Creek Trail that stops at Walnut Creek Park. Balcones Park has a wide array of amenities including grills and BBQ pits, a pavilion for your events, and picnic tables.
Bull Creek District Park and Greenbelt
This park is known for its unique limestone outcropping and popular swimming opportunities. Located on Lakewood Drive, Bull Creek park has a 6.1km trail that is popular for hiking, mountain biking, and running. Avoid getting confused when starting the trail by crossing the creek from the parking. Take note that there is also plenty of wildlife in the area that is mostly reptiles including snakes, turtles, and fish.
There are multiple entrances to the park while parking spaces are available off N Capital of Texas Highway and Spicewood Springs Rd.
Brushy Creek Park
Brushy Creek Park is a pretty massive park located in Cedar Park. It’s constantly kept up very well maintained park with plenty of parking.
The amenities are going to include a hike and bike trail and a 38-acre lake. There’s a canoe launch and fishing, sand volleyball courts, playgrounds, and even pavilions that you can reserve to have your kid’s birthday party or any kind of commemorating gathering. You can reserve the pavilions out there and they do have barbecue grills as well.
Right next door is Brushy Creek Sports Park. They’ve got baseball courts, fields, soccer fields, there’s a skate park out there. There’s a nine-hole disc golf course and basketball courts.
Lakewood Park
Lakewood Park opened up in September 2020 and offers plenty of parking so you don’t have to worry. They have a really cool splash park, playgrounds, and a dog park. There’s a fishing pier, hike and bike trails, a skate park, and a basketball and volleyball court.
You can rent some kayaks if you want. It’s a really awesome family fun thing to do. They have lakeside pavilions that you can rent too. It’s really an awesome park, they did a really good job with the design and all the amenities that they have.
