Downtown Austin
Austin Free Week, launched in 2003 at Emo’s on 6th and Red River, began as a way to support the venue during slow winter months. Over the years, it has grown into a citywide music celebration, drawing tens of thousands of attendees. With participation spanning venues from Austin to Nashville, the event highlights the vibrant music scene and community connection.

3M Half Marathon
January 15, 2025
Stonelake Boulevard
Whether you opt to stand on the sidelines to cheer on runners or compete yourself, the 3M annual half marathon is an event to put on your to-do list while in Austin. Passing some of Austin’s most popular locations and landmarks on a 13.1-mile course, that mostly goes downhill, this race is considered to have one of the fastest courses in the country. It’s perfect for those aiming to run a personal best time.
MLK Celebration

Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by attending Austin’s MLK Celebration. Enjoy live music, watch the parade, and browse goods from local merchants at this street fair.
Le Garage Sale
January 25 – 26, 2025
Palmer Events Center
A semi-annual sale event that features over 100+ local, independent retailers and designers under one roof for two days of targeted and focused shopping. The curated list of vendors brings their excess inventory to sell to serious, like-minded shoppers who are looking to access merchandise from top local stores and designers with ease.
